Invited Speaker Seminar
Abstract:
The talk outlines the discovery of completely novel small molecules that selectively target the IAP and select members of the BCL-2 (BCL-2 and BCL-XL) families in order to selectively induce apoptosis in cancer cells. This work, guided by extensive structural information and supported by biochemical studies, illustrates how molecules that disrupt protein-protein interactions can be progressed from initial lead to clinical candidate.
