Abstract:
My research focuses on the impact of virus infection on host chromatin. By investigating viral manipulation of host chromatin, I discovered that adenovirus uses a virally encoded histone-like protein to sequester immune danger signals within host chromatin and subvert inflammation. In my lab, I will use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate how viruses manipulate host chromatin to expand our understanding of chromatin biology and viral infection
