Abstract:
Nature provides a treasure trove of photoswitchable proteins that are reactive to different wavelengths of light. Our lab works to develop new optogenetic tools by engineering photoswitchable proteins for applications in basic research in cell and neurobiology. I will describe our attempts to find general approaches for doing this.
