Abstract:
Dr. Marcogliese investigates the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms underlying
neurological disease. Dr. Marcogliese uses multiple strategies in Drosophila to:
1) assess variant function, 2) uncover biological mechanisms, and 3) develop models for
drug testing. His work has helped discover IRF2BPL as a causative gene in pediatric
neuroregression and has implicated excess Wnt transcription and signalling in
neurodegeneration.
Dr. Paul Marcogliese is being interviewed as a candidate for the Scientist position in the Research Institute
