Using Networks to Probe Biological Systems John Quackenbush Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Chan School of Public Health As new technologies are providing us with ever-richer, more complex data sets that capture diverse yet complementary information about biological systems, our challenge is to move beyond simple correlations and explore the complex networks that drive biological systems. Drawing from work being done by my research group with our colleagues and collaborators, I will illustrate how we are using integrative methods to develop increasingly complex but accurate and robust models that provide insight into what drives individual phenotypes and what we might do to shift one phenotypic state to another.
