Frontiers in Translational Research, Ex-vivo Models of Human Disease

Structural Genomics Consortium
Thursday, September 15, 2016 - 9:00am to Friday, September 16, 2016 - 5:00pm
TBA

Join us for this two-day symposium to explore the rapidly evolving field of ex- vivo models of disease. Emphasis will be on cancer and the development of drug testing models that are more predictive of clinical outcome.

The objective of this symposium is to explore the rapidly evolving field of ex-vivo models of disease with emphasis on cancer models to better understand cancer phenotype and to develop clinically relevant models for drug testing that are more predictive of clinical outcome.

Topics include:

  • Tumour Organoids
  • Organ-on-a-Chip
  • Microenvironment, hypoxia and extracellular matrix
  • Cancer stem cells
  • Immune cell- tissue interactions and models
  • Ex-vivo models for drug discovery
  • Bio-engineering solutions for ex-vivo models

The symposium will include a poster session in the afternoon of the first day (September 15th). Poster abstract submission closes August 22nd.
Early-bird rate for registration is on now until August 15th. To register: https://sgcsymposium2016.eventbrite.ca
